If a sorority does COB every year, they haven’t met their quota because they aren’t as popular. Doesn’t mean they are bad people but they aren’t a sorority. It’s a club you pay for. Not that many sisters are close to each other. Many just want to be the sorority type but they aren’t so they end up here.

Chi O, ADPi, and Theta do COB every year.
AChiO and Kappa do it sometimes.

does the fact that you COB mean you can't have a cohesive house? I really don't understand the rationale behind that statement.

COB gives houses that might struggle a bit during formal rush the opportunity to recruit some great girls who might not have really considered rushing a sorority before. It's a great opportunity to recruit friends of you freshmen new members or people involved in sports.

Actually it regulates on the cap on sorority size and other factors THIS YEAR aphi, dg, kappa, pi phi (who did it twice this year) chi o, axo, and tri delt all did COB

COB happens when houses are looking to recruit more girls usually post rush, or post winter graduation. most houses are capped at 98 max.

this also happens because people graduate! not to say that this is the sole reason but a lot of sororities have bigger pc’s at different times and they all graduate
