Potentially transferring here
by: HiHey, so I go to an SEC school currently, and in the midst of the craziness of the world I thought maybe being closer to home in Illinois would be better than states away, but still undecided. I’ve been considering ISU & UIUC would say for my major they’d provide me an equal education, so I just wanted to get your honest opinions Greek life and campus life at this school in general. Is being Greek overall relevant to the social scene? I know of some schools where people enjoy it but doesn’t make too much of a difference if you’re not. Do you enjoy the smaller chapter sizes? The sorority at my school is 300+ and my pledge class started at 86 girls, but at the same time having to deal with less people could be nice? And what’s homecoming like? Sorry for bombarding everyone with so many questions, but none of my high school friends went here.

Greek life is relevant to this school because it makes finding friends 1000% easier, it’s super hard to make friends without it unless you work really hard at meeting people. For parties, you can find them in Greek life or just being a geed. Smaller chapter sizes are awesome and make the sisterhood better (some chapters don’t have the best sisterhoods tho) but that’s anywhere. It’s easier to meet your sisters, get a position, and it’s way less expensive compared to big chapter dues. homecoming is fun like at any school

I can say you will actually regret going to uiuc rather than isu. I know people who have transferred to isu from uiuc. Uiuc is way overrated (and overpriced)
