Sig eps and lxa were recently thrown out and they along with pike, sae and sigma chi, make up the 5 largest fraternities in the nation. If you want to start a colony,id advise beta theta pi, phi delta theta. Maybe sigma nu as they were once here and were decent.

Depends what you want. Ato is a solid mid tier house with a good national rep and decent size here and you would have a good experience with them. Sae is brand new, already pretty big and appears to be on the fast track to top tier this year and is huge nationally on the very top tier with sigma chi on most campuses. Alpha sig is lower tier but really nice guys and you would have fun with them. They arent really a well known national fraternity. If you want a smaller group of guys that are good guys, maybe phi psi would be a good fit.as far as hazing, i dont know what other houses do but a lot of it is more mental than physical. If you arent a big drinker, dont be afraid to say when youve had enough. Any good fraternity should understand. You may get razed a little but no big deal in the long run. Depends on what you are looking for. Usually the top houses in size are the ones that haze because they want guys who have "earned" their pledgeship before getting initiated. I would say ATO and Alpha Sig are pretty safe bets to not haze if that is your concern. The best way would be to go to these houses and find which one you could see yourself being apart of and growing as a person in best. Starting a fraternity can be hard with as much competition there is already between fraternities for guys with not that many guys interested in greek life
