I went through informal and didn't experience other houses and settled for one where I didn't like the people in it

A few days before initiation we had our 'pep talks' with our bigs. Mine stated she believed I was not prepared to become a member of their group. Having given unselfishly of my time and talents during pledging, I told her I disagreed. She made it clear she would tell the other initiated members I was not ready for initiation. After that, I went to the standards board and asked how I could become a member if my big said NO. They told me I would not be initiated until next semester. Feeling really sad about it, I went home for break and decided my heartaches would only increase if I had to wait another few months to be initiated. So I dropped. Of course all that time and money spent were gone, but I guess if they did not think I belonged I couldn't force the issue.

I did informal too...settled for a house I didn't love cause it was one of the only ones recruiting and realized it wasn't gonna work out because the girls were just a little too weird for my liking. I have no regrets though...saved up the cash I was gonna use for dues and booked a summer trip to Italy instead!
