what's the difference between chi o and dz?
by: HmmWhat's the difference between these two? Why would one get a bid to one and not the other? Are they similar or different?

That's a difficult question to answer because formal recruitment is a lot more complex than that. Somebody could be a great fit for both but only get invited to one over the other, or neither. This is why you need to go into recruitment with an open mind. From what I know, I would say both chapters look for the same type during recruitment (pretty, dancer or cheerleader). Chi o has a higher retention rate. I'm not sure what happen to DZ this year that they had to do informal, but they usually get a pretty good pledge class as well. Both sororities are super social but these aren't the houses to join if you're valuing sisterhood over title. Don't get me wrong--a lot of nice girls, but also a lot of mean girls.

Each NPC sorority group has its own private national criteria for membership. NPC orgs are free to invite, bid and initiate women based upon character, standards and values. No one can honestly state how it is a woman is bid to one, both, or neither of these groups. I am not a member of any but one NPC sorority AND I cannot tell you our individual group's private criteria. After you join and as you grow within the NPC panhellenic system you will realize each sorority woman has more in common with her panhellenic sisters than differences.
