Let's be real...no one at ECU had ECU as their first choice. For most people it's their "fall back" or safety school. Where did you want to go? My first choices were UNC and NCSU. Got rejected by both.

I got rejected from UNC, wait listed at NC State and wait listed at UNCW. I got in Meredith, just didn't want to go to a all-girls school.

State was my dream school and I did t get in. I got in Campbell and ECU. Campbell was too small. Plus, pirates are better than camels!

ECU was on the bottom of my list after UNC, NCSU, UNCC and App. And here I am.

Got into unc and ncsu. Was leaning ncsu but I got a scholarship here and now I'm glad that I decided to come here.

I got EC Scholars in the Honors College here. It's a full ride... How am I stupid for turning that down?

Because when you graduate and have to tell any employer where you got your degree, they aren't going to care about how you got a scholarship. It's the mediocre education you get when you're here at ECU. A degree from UNC or NCSU is much more impressive. Those employers will quickly write you off before you ever get a chance to say "but I got a scholarship"

Honors is so much more than just a scholarship. We way more opportunities than the general college. Several of us Honors and EC Scholars turned down places like UNC to come here for not only the money but the opportunity. We get several free trips, better internships, honors classes taught by the best faculty and we aren't "just from ECU" we went to the honors college at ECU. So much better

Somebody sold you a load of crap. A degree from ECU is a degree from ECU. When US News and World Report ranks ECU as #194 of National Universities, your degree isn't worth the paper it's written on.

ECU was actually my first choice. The nursing school here is great and they offer what I want to go graduate school for. Which they are only one of two schools that offer my masters program that I eventually want to go into.

That's why 1 in 4 nurses in North Carolina is a graduate from ECU's Nursing School. Obviously they are doing something right. It is a well-respected nursing school in Norh Carolina. Three of my sisters in my sorority who just graduated this month all got Job offers from Duke.

I really wanted to go to Clemson, Auburn, USC or Bama. Didn't get in any. I only applied to ECU when I had no where else to go. Hoping to transfer

honestly, the fact that y'all are even saying these things proves how dumb y'all are. You really are going to degrade ecu that much to the point you come on greek rank and wanna talk that nasty to people who probably go there? Damn grow up. You must have a ton of time on your hands over there at UNC and state to come on here and say such dumb and inaccurate things. ECU is an excellent school, every school has programs that are better than others. That is the rudest and most degrading thing saying that our degrees aren't worth much.... tell that to the tons of family I have that went there INCLUDING my parents and i'll tell you one thing we are doing just fine.

No one cares where your undergrad degree is from. Just get it. From an ECU nursing graduate with a higher degree making big bucks in sunny FL. Also, an Alpha Xi. This is why so many people pull for UNC, who didn't even go there. Oh, I went there, also!
