Things I wish I knew when going through recruitment a
by: Truthspeaker
Hi girls for you all going through recruitment I thought I shared some things I learned from being on other side which I wish u knew going through… your phi chis won’t tell you these things because they are afraid it will interfere with your experience but I’ve seen girl dropped from houses they wanted for some of these reasons and girl left shocked after becoming apart of a house for these reasons.
1. BIGGEST THING: tell them if u really want that house, we are made to rank you based of our opinion if you’d chose our chapter. So tell us if u want us so we can rank u higher if not we won’t know and it will leave us guessing
2. You do not have to cry during pref round, we will not judge you if u do or don’t
3. As for my chapter we did not pretty rush and I don’t know many that do so don’t feel worried about that.
4. Talk to us about the real you… we are given an option to refer you to another sister based of things we talk about and if I know more about you I can find you another sister that you will have great convo with. We do this to make sure you don’t just get along with one girl in sorority but multiple of us.
5. Do not talk to us about Boys, frats, booze religion, partying. Anything like that we are not allowed to talk to you about even if we wanted to. So please don’t bring it up because then it becomes awkward when we have to run around the comment or question, thus making it feel like we don’t want to talk to you when that’s not the case.
6. Last but not least this is very important for after recruitment. Bid-day can last till 2am sometimes so be prepared to be up late that night. Also every sorority has a different process for being initiated. All of them do compete in homecoming which is very time consuming, be prepared for this I’ve seen many girl fail there semester because of these things you need to complete.
