sig ep

Is there a group or something for freshmen to join who are interested in bringing Sig Ep back to campus? This would depend on complete adherence to the award winning, no-hazing Balanced Man Program and the game changing, substance-free bylaw.

SigEp isn't gonna be back any time within the next 2 or 3 years. Just rush and find somewhere else

If you wanted to adhere to the Balanced Man program, you would have never even gotten a bid at NC Kappa. They were one of four SigEp chapters left in the country who practiced and pledged like a "traditional" fraternity. The balanced man program is a way for SigEp nationals to make more money. SigEp got kicked off by nationals, not by ECU. I would not recommend going a SigEp chapter at any college. Nationals is ruining what it means to be a true social fraternity, and changing it into a study club full transgenders and people that would not be able to handle what real pledging is like. Nationals pulled the plug on NC Kappa because they weren't making enough money on us... pathetic excuse. You may not want to believe that from the articles you've probably read on TFM and stuff, but it's true that we got screwed by the people that were supposed to fight for us. Do not join a SigEp chapter anywhere, the national organization only cares about money.

If only they had only embraced the tenets and process of the Balanced Man Program, then they would have been successful.

They were the best on campus, and they had a fantastic brotherhood. They made some mistakes in the last few years and I have no doubt they would've been on top this year. The guys who were left after nationals came down and expelled some brothers genuinely cared about the school, rushees, and had respect for all other fraternities.

School is gonna take the house.

No, the school is not going to take the SigEp house. Alpha Gam will have it for at least 4 years (that was the length of their lease) and at most 6 years. When SigEp comes back to campus they will have to colonize for a year, and then the'll be eligible to get the SigEp house back. Therefore, it is likely 5 years from now ΣΦΕ will be on the house. Unfortunately, it'll be the same house but it won't be the same fraternity. All pledge traditions will he lost overtime and everyone who doesn't get a bid from a good fraternity in 5 years will get a bid from SigEp. I will have no respect for anyone in SigEp 5 years from now... they'll never actually know what it was like to be a brother at NC Kappa

Well, hopefully they forget pledge traditions or they'll get kicked off again won't they?

Lots of colonies fail. Sig Ep is shrinking massively, down thousands of members. Alpha Gam might as well get comfortable there.

@ For sure

Who said all pledge traditions involved hazing and drinking? Most were educational about the chapter, made you closer with the older brothers, and were enjoyed by both older brothers and new members

@rep

Considering the NC Kappa Alumni own the house, and most alumni think the World of that house, It will never be "the Alpha Gam" house. When the 4 year lease is up we could easily pull the plug. Thanks for all the renovations Alpha Gam, I can't wait to visit for Homecoming in 6 years when SigEp letters are hanging from the roof again

I'm confused. How does Sig Ep nationals make more money from Balance Man chapters?

If there are no members in a chapter, then there is no new revenue for Nationals.

@Alpha gam

No, the house was not bought. It is being leased from the SigEp NC Kappa AVC. Get your facts straight...

Nationals prolly sold the house and stole the money to pay for goober chapters at trade schools.

ECU Sig Ep still owns the house... for now. You can check the property tax register.
