Not sure if anyone else has heard, but SigEp is close to getting kicked off campus and losing their charter.

They never really recovered from the last membership review.

They're accused of doing things that literally every fraternity does regularly.

They're being picked on by the school because they are successful and the administration wants to own their house because of its prime location.

They have a leadership problem because they don't have a real pledging process. Instead of guys learning how to depend on each other, the Balance Man program just have a bunch of loosely connected individuals.

Get a lot of hate, but SigEps but they're generally nice and have a strong brotherhood. So what if they're a dry house? Not everyone in Greek life drinks. Don't knock them before getting to know them.

Keeping with the notion of a “Universal respect for self and others,” SigEp has eliminated the pledge process completely.

The program grants all members the same rights and privileges from day one, which is contrary to the idea of a two-tiered, pledge model. Because we recruit the best men, they are granted full responsibility as soon as the accept the invitation of membership.

Yes, Phi Tau is the worst. I lasted untell hell week and a brother pushed me too far in 1985 off campus.

Telling a chapter they have to run the Balanced Man Program without giving them the staff support, volunteers and resources to implement the program is like removing faculty from a college and instructing students to teach themselves.

As a member of the wrongly punished Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, I'm disappointed that there are still members of the ECU community who are unfamiliar with this program. The Balanced Man program is paving the way for fraternity life nationwide, and I am proud to have been able to experience it to its fullest potential.
