fall recruitment 2016

Tiers are irrelevant. Each sorority is great in different ways and every girl going through rush will find a house that fits them. Don't go into rush with a negative mentality of some houses because of what is said on this website,or just try and rush a house because it has "hot girls". We're all part of the same Greek community and have something special to offer! Go where you feel at home and connect the most

Hi. So clearly you didn't read my post. I said that PNMs should focus on trying to get a bid from a top house. Aka the houses with the best GPAs, best sisterhood, best philanthropic participation, and best looking girls. If you don't get a bid from one of those houses, you shouldn't join the other sororities. Do you want to join a sorority with a bunch of misfits or people who you don't click with? Neither do I. PNMs, you are here to join a SORORITY, not a t-shirt club.

Say it sista, Ms. sororityty! Everything you said is true. The last thing in sorority life is being in a house where you may be disappointed in their status versus the sororities that offer the best of everything. Feelings of jealousy will pop up and they really do. College is supposed to be the time of your life before buckling down for real world expectations. If your main focus is partying, then every sorority offers that. But, if your main focus is being the best version of yourself, then being part of the best sorority really matters. The top houses, ADPi, ChiO and Tri Sigma, have held their positions as the best for years. There is a reason for that. That reason being the standards they hold their members to that have not changed for years. AXiD, DZ and APhi will offer most of what the best do but there are jealousies of "Why aren't we the best?". Prestige is part of life. Why limit yourself to 2nd place. Second place is the first loser and don't think 2nd place helps you in the real world. You want to be the best candidate for the job, right? Well, think of sorority life as a job. You have certain obligations and responsibilities. Why not learn these things from the best, use it as a stepping stone for the real world, and be a real winner in life? Mediocre rarely lets you win and leaves room for huge disappointments. Remember, with an average life expectancy of 80, you have another 58 years to get through. If that does bring life into perspective, I don't know what does.

But how is it fair for you to say that just because someone is deemed 'beautiful' by YOUR standards that they deserve better than anyone else? If someone looks different, i.e. not gorgeous blonde hair blue eyes type, they don't deserve the best of the best? That sounds very wrong to me.

Actually Tri Sig was very mid tier in the past, so no they have not held that status for years. Also just because a sorority may not be considered the very top in looks does not mean it's a t-shirt club, imbecile.

Call Ms. sororityty and I imbeciles all you want. But, when speaking to alumni going back 5, 10, 15 and 20 years and asking them the relative ranks, the top 3 haven't moved very far off top 3. I doubt a 10 year or 20 year long alumnus has time to b.s. you at Homecoming in answering a very simple question. Now, regarding appearance. Who do you think will get the job? Someone put together, healthy looking but maybe one qualification less than the other candidate? Or, someone the opposite but one qualification more? I would pick the person that took extra time to put themselves together. I think it translates to work ethic and work effort. EVERYONE is judged on their first appearance in life and that is by LIFE'S STANDARDS. And, as a newly minted adult, get ready for nothing to be fair. Pretty and accomplished are the name of the social sorority game, my dear. And, I highly doubt that will change any time soon.
