Went to a party here once as a freshman with my white friends, they were told that I needed to leave and that if they were down with brown they need to go too. One of the few times I've experienced such blatant racism. A lot of others have similar stories as mine it's sad.

In all reality KA is one of the "big 4" at ECU. They do their own thing and don't really care what everyone else thanks. They are very vey selective ( the most selective at ECU ). Not everyone cares for them but they are true to there self's and are an example of what a real fraternity is. Like them or not no one will argue that they are the most established and solid fraternity at ECU.

RE: 'We're in the South you know...' - being a southern fraternity guy and redneck hicks are completely different. Agree with one comment... similar to Sig Ep friends with a tad more Toby Keith and Salt Life stickers. Seen a lot of pledge classes change an entire house image and the new crop of KA isn't up to par with earlier years.

the guy friends of mine that went sig ep wanted KA during rush, but settled for sig ep. they're a lot a like, but KA is the preferred choice out of the two. very selective

Wow... lots of racism talk here. That's a big accusation. Fraternities are exclusive - sorry. Do you think if a white guy showed up in a bow tie and topsiders he'd get a bid from the all black fraternities? KA doesn't suck b/c of racism. They're just a poor house in general. Nothing like the 'Southern Gentlemen' personal given off. More like backwoods 4th grade reading level dudes. Some how gel has snuck into the KA house.

People give them crap for the whole southern thing but I mean...it's who they are for god sakes. And when they have a party, everyone goes. Their band party and the halloween party were have been 2 of the best parties at ecu this semester. They are really selective but they all are genuinely friends. They are always respectful and really do live up to the southern gentleman thing. They are definitely one of the top fraternities at ecu and everyone knows it and people that say otherwise are lying
