Top houses are in no order (in terms of social): SAE, Sig Chi, Zbt, Sig Ep, Sig Nu. Getting a bid depends mostly on how "chill" you are (money and connections are not as important). hazing is minimal. Parties are in the houses which range from nice to crap hole. Bar scene isn't big until you are 21. Greeks have a large involvement on campus and run most of the important clubs and organizations (UBS, USAC, ect.). Biggest events include Cabo Spring break, Coachella, and stage coach.
