UT administration is basically kicking off any fraternities with decent membership numbers who are what you think of when you think of college frats. It's a dry campus and although you can get away with drinking in the fraternity houses on game days (the one's that are left), it's not what it once was. Most SEC fraternties can party and throw parties in their houses without any problems, here it's all been moved to off campus houses. Guys tend to be really douche bags and judge you based on what sorority you are in even if they see you clearly don't fit the stereotype of your particular house. There's only 3 bars really left on the strip and only one if you're under 21 but have an ok fake. Sorority houses are beautiful but they are super inconveniently located. I think Greek life will die and it will go underground, which is really tragic and not what I expected or wanted out of my experience. UT is still awesome but it's lost most of the things that made it a great party school.
