Greek life is huge at UTK with 25% of the campus being in it. I’m personally in a sorority and our Panhellenic community is awesome. All the girls are so sweet and so pretty. You have your occasional person who isn’t the nicest or the cutest but that’s pretty normal. In terms of hazing fraternities definitely do haze but none of our sororities do. Administration also hates Greek life which is weird because where their highest achieving students, but you don’t really have to worry about it unless you’re a guy. I love being in Greek life I did COB rather than the traditional rush experience so I can tell you if you’re not in Greek life you’re not having fun. Our sororities here are awesome of course they face rumors and stereotypes but when you ignore that you see just how amazing every member of the Panhellenic community is. there’s tons of opportunity for involvement on campus, academic growth, and of course parties. The people who drop are usually people who made problems for themselves, not victims of Greek society. Go Greek or go home!
