Speaking as a GT girl, the sorority rushing process can be stressful but is not as stressful as other schools. Pretty much everyone that wants to join a house will end up with a bid or will be able to receive an informal bid after bid day (known as informal recruitment). All the sororities are places you can succeed, and all sororities on campus support each other. Don't focus on trying to get into a "top tier" because they don't exist at Tech. There are no sorority tiers, and your sorority doesn't matter to anyone except certain frats (certain frats ONLY mix with certain sororities), but if you're pretty and nice you'll be accepted at any frat. All sororities have the same basic social events, houses, etc. so you should really base your rush decisions on your vibe and conversations. You can't go wrong. For frats, there are obvious tiers mostly based on house and pc size. The bigger houses have larger parties, and some frats are a little stuck up. Overall, most frats are chilla and you can get a feel for which ones you like on gamedays in the fall.
