Mixed-positive ratings here: Ten years ago there were no fraternities on campus; at the time of this post there are now four fraternities and two sororities listed on this website. On the one hand, relatively very small Greek-life scene in terms of sheer numbers (e.g., number of different fraternities and sororities, total Greek membership), housing, campus and off-campus activities and general social scene, as well as length and strength of local tradition on this campus; on the other hand, there is no apparent vicious persecution either being executed or contemplated at Farmingdale...at present. Fertile field for sowing Greek seed(s), esp. for what is typically viewed as a commuter campus. A refreshing change from the larger trend threatening nearly every other SUNY college and university.
