In my experience, the Greek community at the University of Akron is not your stereotypical Greek community. The fraternity men and sorority women in this community are hardworking, intelligent, and friendly people who care about one thing: improving the Greek community as a whole. There are some members who do just party and socialize, and there are some people who do live up to stereotypes of Greek life, but in my opinion, the people in Greek life that I have met are some of the highest quality friends I could ever ask for. Every Greek community has issues, and we do have our fair share, but I hope to see this Greek community become even more unified and for all of us to leave a lasting legacy for our chapters and the Greek community as a whole.
