Definitely not as selective as other schools such as Alabama,etc. You don't need recommendations during rush at all! Also less than 15% of the UMD undergrad population is Greek life so it's really not as big as most BIG10s...Our sorority houses are beautiful though. But Greek life at UMD is average at best
