Comment:  DG was founded in Oxford, but not at Ole Miss. It was founded at the Lewis School for Girls in 1873, nine years before women were admitted at Ole Miss. Even though the Alpha Psi chapter wasn't chartered until 1927, DG officially considers it the "mother chapter" because of all the history connected with it.
