Comment:  What's wrong with being a GDI? Not everyone is wealthy and can afford to take part in Greek Life. I had to work 30 hours a week during all 4 years of high school, as an out of state student in order to help my folks out with the tuition and I'm paying for my fraternity dues at Sigma Nu (meal plan, living in the house). Just because someone who is an independent and is not involved in Greek Life doesn't mean they can be looked down upon as pathetic and as a "GDI." I have quite a few friends that are Independents, and virtually everyone in my fraternity has friends that are Independents and hang out with them or grab a bite to eat every now and then w/ them. I really don't care if someone is not in Greek Life or not & neither do numerous of my fraternity brothers.
