At first, you can’t place it; it’s somewhere between mildew, old carpet, and something long past its expiration. But then it hits you: fish. Not seafood. Not dinner. Fish. As if someone brined the walls in tuna water and sealed it in with a prayer. It’s not just unpleasant—it’s atmospheric. The house doesn’t have a vibe, it has a stench, and that stench is all-consuming.
