Comment: SAE at TAMU is honestly one of the worst fraternities on campus. They act like they’re hot stuff, but it’s all fake. They’re exclusive unless you’re from some fancy high school or have the right connections, don’t even bother. That’s annoying, but the real drama is their history. A few years ago, they got hit with a major hazing scandal that got them suspended (still are). Pledges were forced to chug insane amounts of alcohol and got roughed up so bad some ended up in the hospital. The university had to step in and shut them down for a while. And they haven’t changed. I know someone who tried pledging last year, and he said it’s still a disaster. They made him and the other pledges drink until they were puking, plus some “physical challenges” that left him all bruised. He bailed because it felt dangerous, and he didn’t even want to talk about it. That’s not a brotherhood, that’s a nightmare. Their parties? Total letdown. The guys are arrogant and only vibe with their own little groups. Some might be good looking, but they’re jerks. People whisper about creepy stuff happening at their events too, though I don’t have proof—just vibes. Speaking of vibes, there’s this “fetti video” going around that people keep talking about look like total jerks. Sounds like another reason to stay away. Oh, and the paint thinner thing, that’s real and wayyy worse than you’d think. It wasn’t just paint thinner; it was this industrial cleaner called SC-200 they poured on pledges during hazing. Three, got severe chemical burns from it so bad they needed skin grafts. They sued SAE for $1 million over it, and the frat got suspended . Even now, they’re not officially back on campus or part of the Interfraternity Council. They’re not even affiliated with TAMU. That’s a huge red flag. Bottom line: SAE at TAMU is a hard pass. There are way better frats here that don’t have a history of literally burning people or treating pledges like trash. Save yourself the drama and skip these clowns.
