Comment:  I joined in 94 and stayed active until 2000. It was a very laid back, not snobby, and pretty inclusive. I also don't believe that everyone should be allowed in. There is a reason there is a rush period both open and formal. It is so everyone gets to know each other and decide if they want to be a part or want them as a member. If not what would be the difference in any of the sororities? And why would you want to be a part of something that doesn't match your personality? People are always welcome to start their own indipendent sorority as well and make it into whatever they choose.
