Comment: SAE is not doing great. It is actually a really sad scenario. Straight up, the comments below are from friends of mine, and somehow SAE suggests that some other guys are posting. Figures, nobody has ever suggested that SAE has any deep thinkers or cognitive capacity (quite the opposite). SAE has pretty much been focused on svhs issues and going on and on about their self-righteous complaints regarding admonitions. In the time I have been involved in greek life at Cal, I have experienced a culture at SAE that is ill-equipped to handle serious topics and a mentality that views abusers and toxic brothers as "bad apples". It appears that crisis-management conversations within SAE are too often centered around legal liability and public relations — not what the right thing to do is. Prospective members, and sometimes members of leadership, are typically not told about ongoing allegations. Naturally, the secrecy and the lack of true self-reflection within SAE will never lead to change. I have witnessed the disregard for persons of color and LGBTQ+ members, in addition to women. When faced with valid criticism, SAE is incredibly defensive and dismisses valid concerns. Undoubtedly, there will be a member of SAE post about how some other fraternity is posting comments - rather than acknowledge the real issues and focus on real actions to create a better environment within SAE.
