Comment:  Listen, I joined this sorority because I thought I might get a chance to just have fun and meet some people. I'm a queer person who is NOT naturally inclined towards Greek life at all. So, I thought this might be a small place I could feel safe and try something new. While, compared to other sororities, AOII seems nice, it's really not that much different from the others. Just because they're less popular and more "accepting" does not make them immune to the broken system that is Panhellenic. With how unpopular they are, they're desperate to get new members. So, they're more likely to scam you out of your money, only because Panhellenic is constantly trying to scam their chapters too. Not to mention, they all hate each other and are constantly stirring drama that made me feel like I was back in high school. With all the pressure to appear as "perfect" as some of the other sororities seem (which I've heard are far worse but don't have experience with), they take it out on each other. Maybe it's different at other schools, I don't know, but at USF it's so evident that Greek life is broken to it's very core. It's just one long chain of abuse and power trips after another. For the love of god, don't go through recruitment. Save your money and health. Go join a club or talk to people in class or visit a boba shop. I guarantee you that you will make friends much more easily there. Then, you won't have wasted as much of your life like I did.
