Comment:  For those that don’t know, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc was the FIRST Black Greek letter organization founded by African American Women on the campus of Howard University on January 15, 1908. During this time Black Women were not allowed to join the Panhellenic sororities, so 16 women created Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. This sorority has given back to this campus for 46 years and will continue to do so. These women are are very welcoming and wonderful leaders on this campus. This sorority is apart of NPHC (National Pan-Hellenic Council) and not PHC (Panhellenic Council).
