Comment:  I am an incoming senior girl and have not seen any progression from this fraternity from freshman year. I have a few friends in Cal Phi but most of the guys are weird. A lot of them just go to parties and stand off to the side in a circle with other guys. My friends are fun but I know how horrible their pledge process is. Cal Phi was originally SAE but had its charter removed after multiple kids died. The pledges are constantly depressed and look like they age 10 years from the start of the process to the end. These guys need to treat pledges better and teach their fellow brothers how to talk to girls if they want to progress as a frat.
