Comment: KDChi is actually filled with girls who genuinely care about their community, academics & organization. As a recent alumna, I've seen members try to destroy the org. from the inside/out bc they weren't elected into a position or allowed to do things their way, so they start petty drama or spread lies that has infiltrated Greek life bc they couldn't take accountability for their actions. As it seems, they must've done a pretty good job bc now we are disliked by many - so sad. Our saying is "Too Hot (2x)" & "Too Cute (2x)" and has been a tradition passed down for decades but other sororities take it personally for some reason? Being confident in one's org shouldn't cause hateration from another.. and yet - we're disliked bc of what others have "heard" or maybe one bad interaction w/ a sister, even though that doesn't make the whole bad. Anyways, I've met an overwhelming amount of sisters who are absolutely brilliant - educators, social workers, engineers, politically involved, entrepreneurs, etc. Unfortunately over the last few years, the org. has become jaded bc of cliques and power struggles. After some time of trying to reach out/interact w/ other multicultural sororities, it's easy to give up trying when fellow organizations don't seem to care bc they already have their preconceived notions about us. To be honest, like anything - you get out of it what you put in. We have many members who have tried their best to bridge the gap w/ other orgs, connect to alumnae, and actually make a "difference" in their community, however on the counter we have many members who simply joined to find friends on campus or are simply "letter wearers" - don't put in any real effort yet rock our Greek letters. Tbh, our sisterhood is struggling lately but in large part that's due to recent drama and the two year long pandemic which has caused an even further disconnect with alumnae & thus tradition. Hopefully there will be a younger sister or sisters who will step up to the plate to return the org. to its roots and help foster the relationship we have w/ other sororities/fraternities bc believe it or not - we all come from similar communities, have similar goals and are here to serve as leaders for the incoming generation of Latino/as at ASU.
