Comment: I have a lot to say about this one. I rushed this sorority with no idea that it was a top tier one or would be considered a "harder" one to get into. However, I instantly fell in love with the girls I talked to, the philanthropy, and the chapter as a whole. After seeing I got asked back for philanthropy round, I was super excited and nervous to talk to the girls again, already knowing that I really liked and felt like I fit in with this chapter. During the philanthropy round, I had probably two of the best conversations I've had during rush so far. We talked about how I personally related to their philanthropy and how I felt like I had a strong connection to the chapter specifically. The girls agreed and seemed really invested in our conversations. This only lifted my spirits more as I knew that after those conversations I would definitely get called back to the sisterhood round. They even threw in hints into our conversation saying that I would "love the house tomorrow" and things along the lines of not wanting to wait to be able to see and talk to me again. Now I obviously don't really know how the recruitment process works on the other side but I'm sure it came down to choosing to eliminate either me or some other girl/s. Because I am someone who is decently attractive, over 150 pounds, and not really the look for what one might consider a "top tier sorority girl" they had to have used my looks as a deciding factor of whether or not they were going to invite me back because the conversation was definitely one of the most genuine and nice ones I've had. This extremely distresses me as I wished and hoped that recruitment would be more than about how a girl looks. In fact, it should just almost ONLY be on personality and conversation. I don't know for a hard fact that my weight and my looks are the reason why I was dropped but it isn't hard to come to that conclusion when I saw that all the girls who got called back for sisterhood round today fit that ideal body type of a perfect AXO girl. Sad to say I was very disappointed in a sorority I thought would really be for me.
