Comment:  On the rise? Sure. Top tier? No chance. SPE may be growing in size but is largely viewed on campus as being somewhat weird. The fact that they are a dry house makes it hard for them to ever be top tier, and they are forced to rely on F and convincing Warner to let them use their house. Seems like they're mostly made up of swimmers and guys who didn't go out much/weren't that cool in high school and are trying to figure it out now. Some guys are sweet and down to earth, but in my experience most try to seem fratty and can't pull it off and just look like posers/douches. The fact that they aren't as classically cool DOES make them more approachable to some people, so this becomes a go-to spot for freshmen, girls who aren't that into going out, and guys who want to join a frat but aren't party animals. There is nothing really wrong with SPE and it is the perfect frat for some guys, but calling them top tier or even cool is a big stretch and feeds into what some people perceive about them being posers. Unless ksig or sae get kicked off campus, SPE will always be relevant but mid-tier.
