Comment:  Lots of people like to complain about the fact that this fraternity is the only one that rushes in the fall. People mostly complain that it doesn't give some guys a chance to look at the other houses, but I think it's much more concerning than that. Most people who rush sig pi don't do it because they genuinely want to be in that fraternity, they do it because they want to be in A fraternity, and sig pi gives them that experience right off the bat (as opposed to waiting until the winter). Whereas for the other frats that do rush in the winter, the guys rushing are there because they are interested in that specific house over all the others. Sig pi rush consists less of the guys focusing on the brotherhood and more of them showcasing all the cool things they do and how popular they are, and their criteria for choosing which guys to give bids to seems to be who is the most attractive or whose parents have the most money. This results in a level of superficiality within the fraternity that isn't as present in other houses, and many people who don't get sig pi bids end up relieved when they find a house that is a genuinely good fit for them. If you wanna rush sig pi, then by all means go ahead, just know that this is what you're getting into.
