Author:  Why I don’t like Greek life

Comment:  Look, I understand the benefits of Greek life, and as someone who considers myself a Christian, this particular sorority has always broke my heart. I’ve seen so many girls go through recruitment and think that they have to be a Phi Mu in order to continue their relationship with Christ in college, and that’s just not the case. Frankly, you shouldn’t let the sorority you choose affect your relationship with Christ, and God should not be used as a recruiting tool in ANY Greek organization. Our campus does not have a “Christian sorority” and each sorority on our campus has it’s great, amazing, strong, God-fearing women, and they also each all have girls that lack strong faiths, and that’s okay! It’s supposed to be shot meeting people and your mission as a Christian shouldn’t be to run to the comfort of girls that claim they are “just like you” by sharing their testimonies. These girls are beautiful and so sweet, but I hate that young freshman feel hurt when they aren’t “invited back.” I am in an independent involved in a Christian organization on campus, and I think it’s importsnt that everyone knows that Phi Mu IS NOT the only sorority on campus with Christian leaders.
