Comment: I'm rubbed the wrong way by the fact that many girls in sorority have been known for being involved in a bullying incident last year. Specific younger girls should've been taken out of this sorority. It gives a bad name to the sisterhood and these girls shouldn't be cyberbullying. Among spreading rumors within parental ears, it's very unsatisfactory that some girls weren't disciplined. I'm a parent from CA and I sent my daughter to DePaul for it's Catholic values. While visiting my daughter, i overheard some girls (wearing Chi O attire) talking badly about another girl who was presumably not in the sorority. As a LCSW and psychologist, these girls were spreading rumors about another girl in an attempt to ruin her reputation. While unspeakable things were said, I heard verbatim, "even if it's not true, she's not pretty so if she's disliked, who cares". This is very upsetting because I'd hate for my daughter to be part of this organization where there are other girls who are openly bullying another girl. This incident occurred outside of Brownstones in the student center. I almost recorded the situation and sent it to the president of panhel. This type of activity should be reported to the police. Cyberbullying is not to be tolerated. These girls were not only representing the sorority, but the school's honors program. Where standards of character are high, this is unacceptable. I will be speaking with the dean about some of these issues.
