Comment:  I ALSO was bid promised. Well, she tried to anyway. She made me feel so uncomfortable and pressured ("you're definitely going a phi right?" "I'm going to pref you!") that I didn't go through recruitment this past year as a freshman because I wanted to avoid the whole situation. Sad how this one girl scared me out of Greek life.. I might try again next spring........maybe.
