This comment was probably written by an alum who was a member of the machine. The ladies in my family have told me that years ago Gamma Phi had a good rep and were a middle type sorority to be in but then they broke the color barrier and the machine shut them down. It's taken a long time but they're coming back and now have their share of pretty, smart, personable girls with lots from out of state. So this stigma doesn't really apply anymore.
