TL;DR: be very wary of this group, especially this year To answer the question of what the scandal was, a bunch of the kappas went after their president who was known to be seriously struggling with mental health issues, as in EDs and severe depression, right around the time that bids were going out. She was very open with the fact that she was struggling and asked for help and understanding from the people that were supposed to be her "sisters" but instead they continued to bully her. This was a small group not all of the kappas, but no one else in the sorority could say anything because then they would be targeted. This all got out on Tiger Confessions from someone inside the group, which is how literally everyone found out. I honestly feel bad that her private struggles were put on blast, but a lot of us did reach out to her to show support and if social media is any indication she seems to be doing much better now.
