First of all, if your experience is at all similar to those that have been shared then stand up for yourself because I will tell you that not everyone is having similar experiences, it is not normal and it is not ok. Second, we should absolutely be preaching a “we’re all in this together” attitude, but it should pertain to community spirit and support not hazing. Finally, this is not about turning on each other just for the sake of it. It is about standing up for what is right. Do not urge people to stick together in covering this stuff up, that doesn’t benefit anyone. Stick up for yourself and for those who will come after you by calling people out for their wrong doings so we can put an end to this kind of nonsense.
