To everyone, just be careful and learn the risk management failures of others. From my Hollywood/movie like experience at Beta I came to one conclusion: Most if not all the organizations, leaders, and National advisers use intimidation, fear, and bully-like tactics to keep you under their thumb and keep you quite. Even the voting at National conventions Nationals, the local IFC/Panhel, and Student Affairs are only concerned with: personal and campus lawsuits/legal claims, appearance, and their careers.....not the greater good or standing up to emerging issues(former URI President Carothers, Inside the Minds). Just remember that in one second it could be you and your Greek organization; it helps to have people in senate, IFC/Panhel(although I always felt Panhel was more strict and basically on a witch-hunt for anything...much like the other entities I brought up earlier), good relationships with Faculty Leaders/local leaders/national leaders/ and community leaders, and finally your risk management and leaders of your Greek organization.....you want someone that will fight for you and sacrifice tons of time doing the "busy work", a VP that will crack the whip, and you need to respect your leaders and have their backs. Remember one incident or even the appearance of hazing or a perceived threat to nationals/ Student Affairs can be enough. Also lawsuits, we were each personally sued bc a dog bit a girl in our house.
