I've been in Aphi for 2 years and I don't think this is true. When I rushed I wore beat up shoes and an outfit from Primark and no one cared. Yes, some girls are very privileged and come from a very different background than myself, but when we're all in a room together none of that matters- we're just friends and it doesn't matter if you're rich. Some girls are flashy about it and some aren't, that's just life. I just thought I'd share a perspective from someone actually inside the chapter who has a pretty low tolerance for the "snob" type.
