Great points and thank you for your comment! This gives an opportunity to shed some light on their current situation. First, it is true DTD is still a Colony, but the petition has just been submitted to Nationals (had to wait a year). National Response was that Chapter status will be reached at end of this Spring semester. Regardless it's only semantics because chapter status is not required to live in a house, just means Nationals makes more money out of dues. Second, acquisition of their house has been approved by 2/3 (Legal, Finance, Student Assoc) departments of the University still waiting on the legal department which takes the longest for obvious reasons. Also they received a $.5 million loan for the house already and committed $1.5 million from Alumni in futures. We're at the point where we are discussing having meal plans in the house and parking. We already a roster of who's living in the house. Third, our community service/philanthropy has been excellent. To the point where an Educational Foundation partnered with Literacy Volunteers has been founded and last semester raised more money in a year than most Chapters twice their size Nationally. I assume you're in SAE and it's a shame we don't work together more often because we share a lot of the same vision. We have a lot of respect for your Chapter and it drives us to be better.
