There has been a lot of discussion over which if any sorority at MSU has been a longterm dominant sorority. My knowledge of MSU sororities began in the fall of 2008 when my sister was a freshman and continues as I am about to enter my senior year. In my opinion most Greeks would agree that there are 8 major elections/competitions each year - SA Officers, Homecoming Queen, Miss MSU (nominees are selected through an interview process and activities. The top 3 or 4 are voted on by the student body), Miss Mississippi State University (preliminary to the Miss Mississippi Pageant), Miss Maroon &White (Most Beautiful), Kappa Sigma Charity Bowl, Sigma Chi Derby Days, and Chi Omega Limelight (Yes, there are other competitions but these last 3 are the most talked about and the largest).
