Houses do read what you send in and actives have committed some of it to memory so they 'know' you before you even set foot in the door, but it's a starting point only. It in no way gives you "points" toward securing a bid. That stuff really just helps to identify you as a soccer player or a dancer or a cheerleader or whatever to go with your face and hometown and major so actives can remember you. The last thing you want to do is slip through the cracks because no one can recall anything about you. It also helps when figuring out which actives to match you with during rounds so you can have good conversations. There is every kind of girl with every kind of interest in every sorority, so what's on your resume doesn't determine 'good match' nearly as much as how you present yourself in person - that shows how you vibe with a house.
