You are wrong about "the old belief", so I will correct you. Sorority membership requires being a full-time student while maintaining a required GPA as well as substantial time, activity, and financial commitments. NONE of that is conducive to being a mother, especially of an infant. Also to consider is the fact that many members also have part-time jobs to help with expenses, and chapters with houses often have a live-in requirement for their members. A child should, and hopefully would, be a mother's top priority and she would need a lot of help just to get through school after having a baby. It is not being realistic to think that sorority membership and motherhood mix, not to mention the messed up priorities. For these reasons, if a member in good standing with no other issues should have a baby, married or not, she would most likely be granted alumnae status.
