I rushed with a 3.1 gpa and my roommate had a 3.0. We both had a great rush and the only houses my roommate and I were cut from was XO. A higher GPA helps but I truly think if you are in the green zone and have all your other ducks in a row then a 3.0 isn’t going to hold you back. GPA isn’t everything or really anything as long as you are in the green zone, then everything else like involvement and connections is what will make or break you. A girl on my floor had a 4.0 gpa and got cut from all but two sororities after the first round. So again, gpa has little weight except for when a girl is not in the green zone. Though with a 2.3 It pretty standard you will be cut from everything or nearly everything past the first day. Regardless of connections or how pretty you are a 2.3 is a terrible G.P.A and sororities have zero reason to think you have the capability to make grades in college so why waste a bid on a girl who likely be on academic probation the whole time and bring down the chapter average? Not to mention, most girls with that kind of gpa ends up dropping out or switching to community college anyways. So again, sororities don’t want to waste their time on someone who likely won’t be around in a year or so and someone who clearly does not value their future or education. Seems like anyone with a 2.3 so probably be focusing more on school then joining a social organization. College grades follow you FOREVER, you will not be able to be accepted into any program if you keep that up. I know my program requires a 3.0 by junior year in order to stay. You also won’t get into grad school and will probably limit yourself when it comes to finding a career.
