In my sorority it is very hard to cut a legacy and there has to be a VERY good reason to cut her. We usually cut a legacy only if her grades are too low or she gets several negative recs. Every sorority is different but I think everyone takes a legacy very seriously, especially if your mother or sister went to State. The flip side is that sororities other than your legacy house will assume you want that house and may go ahead and cut you without even giving you a chance. So being a legacy has an up and down side.
