Okay. So I've looked all over the Chi O Instagram page to find where it says you can't buy likes. And the only rule is that the chapter with the most likes gets points added on to their final score for Limelight. That's all it says. Nothing else. Technically, ADPI did nothing wrong because that wasn't an explicit rule. Technically, you too can buy likes for your chapter. Is buying likes ethically wrong? Probably. Is it against the rules? No. And while we're on the topic of rigging competitions, let's talk about all the other things that are rigged. Everyone knows that Derby Days winners are chosen by whoever sleeps with the Sigma Chis, which would mostly be Chi O, KD, and DG. A few years ago, DG also bought likes for their photo contest. It's also super easy to rig Watermelon Fest because rich parents donate a ton of cans to help their daughter's sorority win. Promising your high school friend a bid to your sorority is also cheating and rigging recruitment. Point is, rigged contests and cheating are nothing new in Greek Life. Everyone is just mad now because a lower sorority found a way to rig a contest just like the other sororities have been doing for years.
