I'm seeing a few posts about dropping and regretting your house, and things like that. I think something needs to be made very clear to PNMs about dropping out of rush, suiciding, or dropping before initiation. If you didn't get a bid to your favorite house on bid day, the odds of getting that bid as a sophomore are even worse. Everybody seems to think that if they had dropped, that "next time it would have been different." I promise you, there is no way of knowing that, and the odds are not in your favor, no matter what your friend in XYZ says about you being "next on their list" (everybody is always told they were "next" on the list"). You have the choice to drop at any point in the process - during rush, not accepting a bid, before initiation, even after initiation. Just know that if you do, the only thing you should be prepared for is to be an independent. I don't mean to sound harsh, but it's just a reality of the greek system.
