I'm posting this because from now until August a lot of girls get on here and ask about their grades and how likely it is to affect them. Just to prepare any girls out there struggling with their GPA, and I say this not to be mean but so that you aren't heartbroken during rush and drop, in my house (it's a top 4 and I know others vote similar to this but obviously cannot speak for everyone) we are given a list of all the girls with their hometown, high school, GPA, and ACT score on it, and that's it. The first round of cuts we remove the girls with no recs or bad recs, then girls that actives said no to that are from the same hometown, then the seniors can start taking girls off the list. All they do is scan the list and start calling out names with bad GPAs/scores. And unless an active or advisor says that girl is well connected and we can't cut her, she's gone. We don't go back and look at your rec, or your resume, or even ask the girl who talked to you that day. We have to cut SO many girls that night that we have to start somewhere and it's always grades. The 2nd round we sometimes cut the lower grades again, but mostly at that point it's girls we are connecting with or not. If your GPA starts with a 2 or your ACT with a 1 - YOU ARE IN TROUBLE. Please do not go in thinking you'll get what you want and be heartbroken then drop. STICK WITH IT and find an AMAZING sorority, even if you didn't love them from day 1.
