I am a KD alum who just moved to Statesboro and am appalled, to say the very least, that racism and bigotry is so openly allowed to exist and be acknowledged within this greek system. Can any of you, reasonably and rationally, explain to me why - in the year 20 freaking 14 - blacks and other ethic backgrounds aren't "allowed" to join the "white" sororities & frats on campus?? And I have to think that it is definitely the case that this is happening because I look on KD's facebook page and all I see are little white girls. No diversity whatsoever. And it's the same on every other sorority page except for DPhiE. I mean, I've always known how backwards, slow, and ignorant most of Statesboro is to change and progression but this has to be an all new low. I've always been a proud KD. I've always worn my letters proudly and every chapter I've ever been to across the U.S. has been full of diverse, beautiful women; white, black, mexican, hispanic, oritental - all women. But here? It's shameful. I'm embarrassed to say here, in Statesboro, that I'm a KD. Some of the BEST members I've ever known in KD have been anything but white women. Ladies, you really need to take a long hard look at what you're doing and if you even care - at all - I mean, really CARE about what KD is and is supposed to be and stand for, then you will rethink how you're doing your recruitment for the future. Our founders envisioned more than this. They envisioned an organization for ALL women. Shameful.
