I think this is a good time to remind you that Greek life isn't for everyone. Most people take the same core classes freshman year and most sophomores going through rush do very well in those classes. If you were released from recruitment with a 3.75/26ACT, I think it is unlikely you will do much better with a worse GPA. Also, it is a concern that you said your GPA "hopefully" will go up this semester. Only you can control that and if you aren't on track for a 4.0, you'd better study much harder or reconsider going through rush. I don't mean to be rude, just realistic.
